This website provides clients of SCB and/or affiliates with access to various disclosures required by EU and UK regulation regarding Investment Recommendations. Article 20(1) of Regulation (EU) No 596/2014 (EU MAR) and as it forms part of UK law by virtue of the European Union (Withdrawal) Act 2018 (UK MAR) requires that persons who produce or disseminate investment recommendations or other information recommending or suggesting an investment strategies should be based on current public information that have been obtained from publicly available sources to ensure objective presentation and to disclose their interests or indicate conflicts of interest concerning the financial instruments to which that information relates.

An Investment Recommendation under EU and UK MAR is defined as information recommending or suggesting an investment strategy, explicitly or implicitly, concerning one or several financial instruments or the issuers, including any opinion as to the present or future value or price of such instruments, intended for distribution channels or for the public. The technical regulatory requirements that support Article 20 of EU and UK MAR requires that Investment Recommendations or other information recommending or suggesting an investment strategy are objective, clear and are an accurate presentation of such information and include disclosure of any interests and conflicts of interest.

While there are a number of required disclosures relating to Article 20 EU and UK MAR this website provides information on Investment Recommendations that have been issued by SCB on in scope financial instruments or the issuers of those instruments during the previous 12 months. (Note: the record of Investment Recommendation commences from 3 July 2016).

"Buy" means recommending an investor to buy a financial instrument.

"Sell" means recommending an investor to sell a financial instrument.

"Hold" means recommending an investor to keep a financial instrument.

"Pay" means recommending a counterparty to pay a fixed leg of IRS and receive a floating leg of IRS.

"Receive" means recommending a counterparty to receive a fixed leg of IRS and pay a floating leg of IRS.
